A PRINCIPLE

We don't rank you by who you know.

Software that sorts investors by the strength of your existing relationships helps the best-connected founder win again, and lets the algorithm take the credit.

So the order of your list comes from investor behaviour: stage, sector, recent cheques, readiness. Once a firm is on the list on its merits, Network shows you whether there's a warm way in. A path is useful. A ranking built out of paths isn't fair.

Four kinds of connection, and why each one works.

  • Who they invest alongside

Investors who have backed the same companies trust each other's judgement. If one of your investors has co-invested with a target firm, that's a strong route in.

    co-invested twice in 2025

  • The people already on your cap table

Your existing backers have the most reason to help, and investors listen to other investors.

  • Founders they've already backed

A founder in their portfolio can tell you what the partner is really like and, often, make the intro.

  • Who you and your team know

Connect your contacts and we'll show where they overlap with your shortlist. Your contacts stay yours.

Connected contacts are private to your workspace. They're never shown to other customers and never used to rank anyone else's list. {{CONFIRM: contact import method, e.g. LinkedIn export CSV / Google contacts}}

Not every mutual is a warm intro.

Two people following each other online isn't a relationship. Path strength looks at how recent the connection is, how many times they've worked or invested together, and whether the middle person has a reason to help you.

    Pick the path

Choose who to ask, with the reason in front of you.

    Get a forwardable draft

A short note to your connector, plus a blurb they can forward: who you are, what you're raising, and why this investor.

  3. 03

    Track it

The ask shows up on the investor's card and in your pipeline, so nothing goes cold.

You edit and send it yourself. Yellowtail never messages anyone on your behalf without you pressing send.

See who moves together.

Rounds usually have more than one investor. Co-investor maps show which firms regularly back the same companies, so when one says yes you know who to call next, and who's likely to ask for references.
